Community Experience

2007 Jul, Ajax4One

Developed AJAX framework for concurrent online/offline web based applications. Offline work utilizes Web Storage available in FireFox as described in the WHATWG specification. Work is represented by XML files which are "shared" between users over the Internet. Conflicts during saving files are identified and resolved by a merge technique. Offline HTML page persistence and client logic in JavaScript allow complete disconnect from the Internet with synchronization (merge) of the "shared" file on demand while connected to the Internet. Rich client interface included logic/validation and command pattern for undo and redo of changes. Web client presentation enhanced by JavaScript libraries to provide local application look and feel including: windowing, multiple documents, minimize, maximize, start menu, application frames, menus, toolbars.

2006 Apr, FeatureDrive

Developed concurrent user project managment tool based on feature-driven practices. Full client user interface with context help, installer, Web start (Web automated software updates), multiple panes, and license. Web based download site with automated payment system (PayPal) and delivery of licenses (J2EE). Full automated licensing backend with Hibernate, Servlets, and EJB. Site server via Embedded Tomcat.

1996 Dec, Farm Shell

Extended Unix C Shell to dispatch commands over worker computers based on load distribution, library available or product installed, and quality of service. Results of distributed commands rendered to local shell. Configurable failover and recovery of commands due to reduction in quality of service including detection of communications or device failure.
